Who this is with
Quizporium is provided by Mark Hawley, trading as Quizporium ("we", "us"). If you have a question about these terms, contact mark@quizporium.co.uk.
What Quizporium is
Quizporium is software for running live pub and club quiz nights and music bingo games — a projector view, a phone view for players to join and answer on, and a console the host drives the night from. It is sold as a monthly subscription to quiz hosts ("quizmasters"), not to the players in the room.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your password to yourself and for what happens under your account. Tell us if you think someone else has got hold of it. One account is one quizmaster or one company — do not share a login across unrelated hosts.
Subscriptions and billing
Quizporium is billed monthly, in advance, at the price shown for your tier (Bronze, Silver or Gold) at the time you subscribe. Payment is handled by our payment processor — we never see or store your card details. Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel.
We may change prices for future billing periods. If we do, we will tell you before the change takes effect, and you are free to cancel rather than accept it.
We are not currently VAT-registered, so no VAT is added to the prices shown.
What you get for it
Your own quizzes, bingo games, photos, venues and everything else you create belong to you. Packs you buy from our catalogue are licensed to your account for use in your own nights — you are not buying a copy of the file, and you may not resell, redistribute or sub-license a catalogue pack to anyone else. If we correct a mistake in a catalogue pack, every account holding a licence to it gets the fix automatically.
Picture-round artwork is AI-generated, not a real photograph, and is captioned as such on screen. Music played during a night is your responsibility to license through your venue's own music licences — see the picture-round and streaming notes in our help pages for more.
Acceptable use
Use Quizporium to run quiz and bingo nights. Do not try to access another quizmaster's own packs, player data or account; do not scrape, resell or redistribute the catalogue; do not use the service to harass, defraud or send unlawful content to players. We may suspend or close an account that breaks this.
Photos from your nights
Players can send photos to the big screen, and you can use photos from your own nights to promote those nights — a public page for the evening, or your own marketing. The screen a photo is sent from tells the sender that before they send it, so the notice a room sees is the app's job, not yours to write.
Deciding what to publish is yours. You choose whether a night's photos go on a public page, and you are responsible for what you put in your own marketing. If somebody asks for a photo of them to be taken down, take it down — the bin on the console removes it from the app and from any public page straight away. Photos sit in a private backup with a version history, so a deleted photo can still exist in that history; say so honestly if you are asked rather than claim otherwise.
Reliability
We work hard to keep Quizporium running on the nights you need it, but we do not guarantee it will never go down — it runs on hosting infrastructure outside our control, same as any web service. Where we can recover a night automatically after a crash or a dropped connection, we do; we cannot promise it will never happen.
Liability
We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — a cancelled gig, lost bookings, and so on. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your subscription is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability we cannot lawfully limit, such as for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
Cancelling
You may cancel at any time — see our Refund Policy for what happens to your billing and your data. We may end your subscription if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we stop offering the service, with reasonable notice where we can give it.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the new version here with an updated date, and for a material change we will tell subscribers directly before it takes effect.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
